Actress Chitra Passes Away At 56; Cinema World Shocked By The News

Famous south actress Chitra has passed away. The 56-year-old actress died at her home in Chennai following a heart attack. Malayalam actress Chithra, who has also acted in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films, passed away on Saturday. She has acted in over 100 films in South Indian languages.

Chitra began her career as a child performer. K Balachander introduced her in the 1975 film Apoorva Raagangal, which also starred Kamal Haasan and Srividya. She debuted as a heroine with the movie Rajaparvai and got more attention through the movie Attakkalasam. Attakkalasam was her first hit in the Malayalam industry. She went on to star in other hit Malayalam dramas including Nadodi, Ekalavyan, Devasuram, Commissioner, Aaram Thampuran, and Ustad. She has acted in many films alongside top stars including Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, and Prem Nazir. The death news shook the film industry as well as fans. Many celebrities have mourned the death of actress Chitra. Celebrities like Prithviraj and others shared their condolences through social media. Prithviraj shared a photo of the actress and wrote condolences.
