The onset of April saw the situation of the second wave of coronavirus worsen in India. While films were skeptical of releasing their films on OTT earlier, the future of theatres still looks gloomy ahead. This has prompted various filmmakers to take the digital route for their films. Earlier Bhoot Police, starring Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor, was reported to have signed a deal with Disney+ Hotstar for their release. And now, the comedy-drama flick Hungama 2 is said to have taken the digital route too.
As per the reports, Priyadarshini's Hungama 2 has signed a deal with a digital giant for their film to release on their platform. The film that stars Shilpa Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Meezan Jaffrey, etc, is a sequel to the 2003 hit film of the same name. Though no official confirmation has been released from the makers yet. It is expected that the producer's Ratan Jain, Chetan Jain, and Ganesh Jain are soon going to make the announcement after signing and closing the deal with the digital giant.
Hungama was a rib-tickling adventure that starred Paresh Rawal, Aftab Shivdasani, Akshay Khanna, and Rimi Sen in the lead roles. The second part, Hungama 2, will mark the digital debut of Javed Jaffrey's son Meezan Jaffrey. Before the lockdown, the whole cast of the show was promoting the film on shows like The Kapil Sharma Show.
