After the success of the 2012 film, Oh My God, Akshay Kumar has decided to helm the sequel of the film. While the first part had Paresh Rawal in the lead role, the second part is going to star Pankaj Tripathi who will be starring opposite Akshay.
According to the latest report in a popular website, Oh My God 2 finally has a director on board and it is none other than Amit Rai, who's known for directing the 2010 film Road to Sangam. "After brainstorming on multiple ideas with multiple names, Amit was able to crack a plot that’s relevant and as exciting as the first part," revealed the source to the website. Adding further, "It took him quite some time to develop the idea into a screenplay. It’s only after multiple narrations and discussions that the film got greenlit by Akshay Kumar. He is all excited to commence shooting for Oh My God 2 from the month of September."
Oh My God 2 will have the same plot as that of a social comedy but only with a fresh stance on religious beliefs and superstitions. The film will be produced by Akshay Kumar himself along with Ashwin Varde. Apart from this, the Khiladi actor has more than ten films in line. Along with Bell Bottom and Sooryavanshi, Kumar will be seen in Bachchan Pandey, Ram Setu, Atrangi Re, Dostana 2, Housefull 5, Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan and more
