It is unfortunate for all the Akshay Kumar fans who have been awaiting the release of his film Sooryavanshi for a long time. Earlier the film was supposed to release on March 27 last year, however, due to the sudden onset of the pandemic, the makers postponed the release date. After that, the makers had planned for a December release last year, however that was cancelled too.
And now, dated April 30th release has also been pushed to a later date. This decision has been taken after Rohit Shetty's meeting with Maharashtra's CM Uddhav Thackeray. "The Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr Uddhav Thackeray had a discussion with director Rohit Shetty yesterday. In the meeting, Mr Uddhav Thackeray appreciated Rohit Shetty as he took the brave and difficult decision of postponing Sooryavanshi owing to the current COVID situation in the state," the makers said in a statement.
Sooryavanshi is the third film belonging to Rohit Shetty's cop universe. The first two films saw Ajay Devgn play Singham and Ranveer Singh play Simmba. The film is produced by Dharma Productions and it was also supposed to see Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh do a cameo and help Akshay Kumar solve a case. Meanwhile, the Khiladi actor has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently hospitalised for precautionary reasons. "Thank you everyone for all your warm wishes and prayers, they seem to be working , I am doing fine, but as a precautionary measure under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home soon. Take care,” he wrote
