Being 'Good Friends' After A Breakup Irritates Naga Chaitanya: ‘I Didn’t Ask For Friendship’

Actor Naga Chaitanya recently shared his experiences with being separated in a relationship. His forthcoming bilingual Tamil-Telugu movie, Custody, is currently getting ready for release. The actor participated in a game of truth or dare during the film's promotion, when he answered some thought-provoking questions and discussed the idea of being friends with ex.

Naga Chaitanya's personal life frequently makes headlines. Prior to their separation in 2021, he was wed to actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He is reportedly dating the on-screen Shobhita Dhulipala. He and the actor have yet to confirm the rumours, though.

Chaitanya recently made an appearance in a video alongside YouTuber Irfan to promote his next movie. The two engaged in a game of truth or dare while providing frank responses to some inquiries. Irfan talked about his break-up from two and a half years ago in response to a question about being rejected in a relationship.

He related how she had informed him it wouldn't work out but that they might be excellent friends instead. Chaitanya responded immediately. “We can be good friends. It is that part that irritates me the most. I didn’t ask for friendship,” Naga Chaitanya said.

Several people agreed with Chaitanya's viewpoint when the interview clip appeared on social media. A user commented: "+1. Can totally relate to that kind of irritation”. Someone else said, "Can't agree with him more."

In the same interview, Naga Chaitanya also discussed his biggest mistake. “I don't have any regrets per se. I see them as experiences from which I’ve learned. There are 2-3 films that I regret doing but again I see them as the kind of work I shouldn’t repeat,” he remarked.

In his upcoming movie, Custody, Chaitanya plays a police officer. It is directed by Venkat Prabhu. Sampath Raj, Krithi Shetty, Priyamani, and others are also featured in the movie, which will be released on May 12th.
