Veteran actor Dilip Kumar breathed his last on July 7 at 7.30 am at the Hinduja hospital in Mumbai. The actor had been suffering from age-related issues for the past few years now. Last week, he was rushed to the hospital after complaining of breathlessness. After receiving treatment, his wife Saira Banu said that he was still in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) but was stable. Se also asked everyone to pray for his recovery. However, the nonagenarian breathed his last on July 7. In the past couple of years, Dilip Kumar had been hospitalized multiple times due to age-related issues.
The doctors who treated Dilip Kumar were anticipating these problems due to his age. Earlier, Dilip Kumar was admitted to Hinduja Hospital on June 6 due to breathing issues. He underwent a pleural aspiration procedure which helped him breathe properly. Though he was in the hospital for five days, he was discharged and was in good health. Dilip Kumar is popularly known as the Tragedy King of Bollywood. In his career spanning over six decades, Dilip Kumar was known for his iconic performances in films like Devdas, Naya Daur, Mughal-e-Azam, Ganga Jamuna, Kranti, and Karma. His last on-screen appearance was in Qila in 1998.
