If you list out the best thrillers made in Indian Cinema, Drishyam will get a place in it. Such was the brilliance of that movie. It also got remade into various other languages like Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the Malayalam original featured Mohanlal and Meena in the lead roles. Recently, Jeethu Joseph announced a sequel to this movie. The shooting of the film was supposed to start by now but got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The latest reports suggest that the movie will go on the floors next month.
According to the sources from the Malayalam film industry, the makers of Drishyam 2 are planning to start rolling in August. Jeethu Joseph is currently busy wrapping up the script works of the movie. On the flip side, Jeethu Joseph is also busy wrapping up the shoot of his ongoing film Ram. This action thriller features Mohanlal and Trisha in the lead roles. Meanwhile, the Government of Kerala has only allowed the shoots of films which are in the midway of the shoot. Thus, Drishyam 2 may only go on the floors after the government allows the shoots of the new projects. More details of the film's shoot will get announced soon.
We don't know if Drishyam will be a continuation story to the first part or deals with a completely different premise.
