Vishal's Chakra was slated to release on February 19. However at the last minute, a director named Ravi of Tritan Arts accused director MS Anandan of Chakra of plagiarism. The Madras High Court issued an interim stay against Chakra and asked Vishal and director MS Anandan to give an explanation for the same. Vishal and his counsel managed to give an explanation, which helped him clear the hurdles. Chakra, which is produced by himself, released on February 19 in four languages without any last-minute hurdles.
Vishal issued a statement to announce the same. He wrote, Truth always triumphs!! Yes, as always have faced hurdles, issues, and have always been true to my self, to my profession and to anything related to the film industry. The stay has been vacated and Chakra will be released worldwide on February 19. Will be a grand da fo Chakra movie in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Thanks to the Hon High Court for serving the order at the right time keeping the interest of not just the producer but everyone involved in the film and vacating the stay. We are in to release the film as per schedule."
