Chiranjeevi's Acharya and Prabhas Oh Dear out of race to the finish line

Previously, Rajinikanth's Annaatthe, Chiranjeevi's Acharya and Prabhas's Oh Dear aka Prabhas20 were all set to have a Sankranthi release. With the coronavirus pandemic putting a halt to film shoots, it seems like Chiranjeevi's social film Acharya and Prabhas' Oh Dear have dropped out of the race to the Sankranthi finish line. Both films might be ready for a Sankranthi 2021 release.
Koratala Siva, Acharya's director says 40 percent of the shooting is complete. The parts wherein Chiranjeevi is playing the lead role have been already filmed. Thus, a larger chunk of film remains. The cast and crew will have to film it after the lifting of the lockdown. However, with Ram Charan essaying a major role in S S Rajamouli's epic drama RRR, there are a few dates and scheduling issues. Directed Siva has to figure out Ram Charan's dates. The film crew will also need a month's time after shooting for post-production formalities. So a Sankranthi release for Acharya seems to be a far fetched dream. Chiranjeevi’s Acharya marks the maiden collaboration with director Koratala Siva. Chiranjeevi will take on a dual role in the film.
The Prabhas and Pooja Hedge starrer film Oh Dear had completed a majority of the shooting. However, the arcade and cast had to work on the minor things that are left out. The VFX work for the film will also require more time. So, the film might not be ready for a Sankranthi release.
