Re Sivakarthikeyan revealed that he produced Doctor on a first-copy basis. Ahead of the film's release on October 9, KJR Studios was supposed to pay a huge sum of Rs 25 crore to enable the smooth screening of the film. However, due to the financial crunch, KJR Studios was not able to pay the money.
Sivakarthikeyan came to know of this issue and managed to ay a sum of Rs 25 crore with the help of a financier one hour before the release of the film. If this wasn't done on time, Doctor's release would have been postponed leaving the producers to face severe cash crunch and loss. Sivakarthikeyan's timely help has ensured that Doctor had a smooth release and even grossed more than Rs 25 crore worldwide. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Doctor is a medical thriller with a focus on organ trafficking. The film was hailed as a laughter medicine during covid times. Critics and audience appreciated the team of Doctor.
