In a cheque bounce case, the Chennai Saidapet court sentenced director Lingusamy to six months in prison or a Rs 10,000 fine. Despite the fact that the director has challenged the Saidapet court's judgment to the Madras High Court, he is said to have paid a Rs 10,000 fine to avoid a 6-month prison sentence.
Lingusamy's Tirupathi Brothers received a Rs 1.3 crore loan from PVP Capitals to direct 'Enni Ezhu Naal,' starring Karthi and Samantha. However, the filmmaker continued to shoot the film without returning the production house's money, prompting PVP Capitals to bring a complaint against the Tirupathi Brothers at Madras High Court. The High Court heard the case and ordered Director Lingusamy to repay the PVP Capitals loan. Following this ruling, director Lingusamy presented a cash cheque to PVP Capitals for Rs 1.3 crore.
However, the cheque issued by Lingusamy was rejected due to inadequate money in the bank, and PVP Capitals filed a check fraud case in Saidapet court against director Lingusamy and his brothers. The Saidapet court that heard the case condemned director Lingusamy to 6 months in jail and fined him Rs 10000 in the cheque bounce case.
It is also worth noting that Lingusamy has filed an appeal in the Madras High Court against the cheque bounce complaint brought by PVP Capitals.
