Directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj, the film Vikram continues to garner a good response in theaters. Jafar Sadiq, a choreographer, played a major role in the film. His character has received much acclaim.
However, the video released by the YouTube channel 'Flip Flip' making a roasting video in Tamil, spoke ill of the actor and Jaffer's role in it. The video makers made a very bad comment about Jaffer's body.
This topic has become a hot topic and many people have come out against the YouTube channel. Now Lokesh Kanakaraj himself has clarified his views on the issue. Lokesh said this in an interview to the Tamil Cinema Review YouTube channel.
“Anyone can critique the film. Viewers have the right to say that it does not in any way reflect the character and the acting of the person who made it. But it's very bad to talk about the body of the person who did the character. Jaffer did not act because he is, but because he is such a talented actor. I firmly believe that body shaming like this is wrong. If you think the next movie is bad, make two roasting videos if you want, but stop doing this;” Says Lokesh.
More people have taken up the subject since Lokesh's reply came out. Many on Twitter have called for the video to be withdrawn and an apology made.
Under the banner of Rajkamal Films International, Kamal Haasan and R.K. Vikram co-produced the film with Mahendran. Anirudh Ravichandran has composed the music for the film. Ratna Kumar and Lokesh Kanakaraj have penned the script for the film. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Surya, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahad Faasil.
The film has grossed over Rs 300 crore worldwide so far. In Tamil Nadu, the movie has surpassed the collection of Bahubali 2 and become an industry hit.
