Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy hit the theatres on January 12. The film is directed by Gopichand Malineni. It stars Shruti Haasan and Duniya Vijay in important roles. Duniya Vijay is a star in the Kannada film industry.
In a conversation with India today.in, Duniya Vijay said, "Balakrishna is a much bigger star than me. It’s my good luck that I was roped in for this film. I am thankful to Balayya, director Gopichand Malineni, and Mythri Movie Makers. I have great respect for all of them."
Talking about his role, he said, "I liked the characterisation by the director. The way his personality and behavior were written was very appealing to me. This is the specialty of Gopichand Malineni. The small negative roles I did at the beginning of my career helped me out then. Then, of course, I turned hero and the rest is history. All this is thanks to my mother’s prayers and God’s grace. Acting is my job and passion and I didn’t think twice about playing the antagonist. It shows that an ant can also become an antagonist."
He then spoke about how he chooses a film and said, "I will definitely work in more Telugu films if I get good roles. I love scripts that give an actor scope to perform and even if they play an antagonist, it has to have a parallel track to the heroes. Then the audience will watch the whole movie more seriously."
