Rajeev Ravi's much-awaited movie Thuramukham starring Nivin Pauly as the hero and Fahadh Faasil- Mahesh Narayanan's Malik are set to grace the big screens for Eid on May 13. Interestingly, both are period dramas. The makers of both the films officially announced the release date after the Kerala government decided to reopen theatres from January 5.
Thuramukham, is an upcoming political thriller marks the first collaboration of Nivin Pauly, the young star of Malayalam cinema, and the National award-winning cinematographer-director Rajeev Ravi. The movie, which is unarguably one of the most awaited releases of the year. On other hand, Malik is a big-budget venture produced by Anto Joseph. It is a historical film set in different periods and will have Fahadh sporting four different looks. Nimisha Sajayan plays the female lead. Vinay Forrt, Indrans, Dileesh Pothan, and yesteryear actor Jalaja are also part of the cast.
After the long pandemic-induced delay, Mollywood filmmakers are predominately planning to release films during Vishu, Eid, and Onam. As 2020 gave a jolt to all film industries as no movies were released in theatres during the year. The film industry is slowly limping back to normal as screens have now opened and a couple of films have announced their release dates.
