Netflix's original action-packed film Extraction was a big success all over the world upon its release. The film primarily shot in Bangladesh and India and stars Chris Hemsworth, and Randeep Hooda in various lead roles. The film follows the story of Chris Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a mercenary for hire who goes to Bangladesh to rescue the son of a Mumbai drug lord. Sam Hargrave directed the film and Joe and Anthony Russo co-produced it. Recently the producers of the film confirmed that Extraction is going to get a sequel. Now in a new interview, Hoe Russo has said that Extraction 2 will be physically and emotionally bigger than its first part.
Speaking in an interview with CinemaBlend Joe said, "I started writing the sequel (prequel?) three weeks ago. It’s a great character to write for, with a fantastic performance from Hemsworth. So it makes my job easier. I think the mission is to up the scale on this one, both emotionally and physically.”
In another interview, Russo spoke to Collider about how the discussions about the follow-up went. “I think there were preliminary conversations prior to release. Everyone was very happy with the movie and very excited about it. There was good energy going into the release. And certainly the release cemented it. But yeah, it had been a conversation that’s been going on for a little over a month,” he added.
He further said, "There’s been a lot of talk and questions about sequels and prequels and all sorts of things, and all I can say is who knows.” But with this amount of support, it’s something I will be pretty stoked to jump back into.”
Recently actor Randeep Hooda revealed that he has signed up with an American talent agency to acquire future projects in Hollywood.
