Filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra cautions artists about fake casting calls under his name

Many scammers have emerged yet again in the Hindi film industry as it continues to be ravaged by the Coronavirus pandemic. Another case of fraud has emerged in the name of Mukesh Chhabra. The casting director turned filmmaker took to social media on Saturday morning to caution young artists about fake casting calls that are using his name. The filmmaker said that he was annoyed by the number of such casting calls and will now be taking preventive steps to avoid such cases.

On Instagram the director shared a statement where he wrote, “Important Notice to all Actors - We are tired of all the #fraudmessages, #fakecastingcalls, #fakecastingrequirements #anonymoussocialmediahandles made under the name of @castingchhabra or people pretending to be working at MCCC.” “After so many such instances, We have decided to have an official MCCC number to avoid all these fake actions. It is a humble request to all the actors to verify with us or inform us about these actions on the above-mentioned contact number. Let's stop this here and help each other to make this a better environment to work in this Industry. Also, all our team member's names and photos are on our official website - Please be alert and safe,” he added. Just last Thursday the filmmaker had to debunk another fake casting call regarding Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. He wrote, “Once again for all the actors out there, please beware of such fake posts. Kindly do not respond to Pritesh Noidu who is claiming to be a part of this project.”
