With the number of aspiring actors and actresses that come to Mumbai every year, there is no shortage of fraudery. Writer and filmmaker Shashank Khaitan has now found himself in the middle of a fake casting call news regarding the Varun Dhawan starrer Mr. Lele. Taking to social media Khaitan has debunked all rumours about any such casting call and asked people to take caution.
Addressing the entire issue Khaitan said, "URGENT-- I have received many messages and emails from actors that someone, going by the name Nitesh Sharma Casting, is claiming to be a casting director for Dharma Productions and the film 'Mr Lele'. He is asking for money for auditions and other favours. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS FALSE No one by this name works for Dharma."
Khaitan said that they aren't casting for Mr. Lele at all as of now as the entire production is on halt. He added saying, "Please be aware of all such people claiming to be from Dharma Productions. 'Mr Lele' is not happening right now. We are not casting for it. Please do not get scammed by such frauds. Please take care. Be safe."
Mr. Lele stars Varun Dhawan and Bhumi Pednekar. The film was announced earlier in January. This is the third time Shashank Khaitan is directing Varun Dhawan in a film. Khaitan previously directed Dhawan in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
Previously in March Shashank Khaitan announced that Mr. Lele is put on hold due to scheduling conflicts.
