Mammootty is one of the most versatile actors in recent Malayalam cinema, in terms of his choice of scripts. He has released four films so far this year that are very different in terms of story and narration. The next film is no exception. Mammootty's new film is Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. A new still of the film is circulating on social media.
In his predecessor Rorschach, Mammootty played Luke Anthony, a British citizen with a business in Dubai. Lijo's film is a perfect Tamil rural setting. Mammootty's character is the same Tamil individual in the film. The promotional materials for the film, which came out earlier, have attracted attention.
Mammootty himself is producing the film under the banner of The Mammootty Company. Lijo has also produced the film under the banner of Amen Movie Monastery. Lijo's story is scripted by S. Harish. Theni Eshwar directed the film; Deepu Joseph edited it; Tinu Pappachan was the chief associate director. Gokul Das directed the art; Ronex Xavier did the makeup. Ranganath Ravi designed the sound; and Fazal A. Bakar mixed it. The posters drawn by KP Muralidharan for the film have garnered a lot of attention on social media.
The shooting of the film, which is set entirely in Tamil Nadu, began in Velankanni. Palani was the main location. Lijo completed the shooting of the film in a single schedule of 28 days. This was after overcoming the inclement weather prevailing in Tamil Nadu. The film has been selected for the competition section of this year's Kerala International Film Festival.
