“Due to work delay on our side “Gold” will be releasing one week after Onam. Please forgive us for the delay caused. Hoping to compensate this delay through our work when “Gold” releases,” Alphonse wrote on Facebook.
It was earlier announced that the film would hit theatres as an Onam release. But the release date was not released. While this announcement was expected to be made soon, Alphonse announced that the release would be delayed.
"Gold" is a film directed by Alphonse Putran after a gap of seven years. Nayanthara is the heroine in the film. Gold also has the distinction of being Nayanthara's first Malayalam film after Love Action Drama.
Prithviraj plays the role of Joshi in the film. Nayanthara will play the role of Sumangali Unnikrishnan in the film. Gold is Produced by Prithviraj and Listin Stephen under the banners of Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames. The film also has the distinction of Mallika Sukumaran portraying Prithvi's mother.
Meanwhile, Alphonse Putra is also gearing up for a film named Patt. Fahadh Faasil plays the central role in the film, and Nayanthara plays the female lead. The film was announced last September. No information about these pictures has been released since then.
