Mamukkoya says that Devarajan master was surprised by the talent of musician Baburaj. Baburaj Baburaj was a musician who did not even know how to write notation until his death.

“He is a musician who shocked even Devarajan's master. To this day, I have not forgotten what Master Devarajan said at the time of Baburaj's death. Baburaj died in his seventies, and Master Devarajan came at that time. I can't forget his speech that day. He is someone from the musical tradition. But Baburaj is not like that. I had composed four or five songs in Mohana Raga, which became a huge hit. Baburaj also composed three or four songs in the same raga. Master Devarajan said that even God does not know where those songs are today,” said Mamukkoya. Mamukkoya added that Devarajan master adored Baburaj. Similarly, at that time, Devarajan had given one and a half lakh rupees to Master Baburaj's family.
