“I Feel Better When It Comes To Auditioning;” Says Kani Kusruthi

Actor Kani Kusruthi says she never felt that people were selected for the film on the basis of talent. Kani said that even though they are famous actors, it is good to attend auditions and workshops from time to time. Kani said this in an interview with Wonderwall Media. “I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of artists I have seen a lot of talented and potential people in workshops and theaters. Some of them want to act in movies. It has never felt like casting here is only on the basis of ability. What is the criterion for this? The only criteria are talent and hardware. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I know for commercial hits certain people should act today;” said Kani.

Kani added that famous people should also take part in auditions. “It's a little open now. Auditions are in progress. New people are coming. In the past, cinema was a place that could only be reached if there was some connection with the filmmakers. That style has changed. Famous actors do not audition. I personally disagree with that. No matter how far you go in craft, it is good to do workshops. I'm not saying to audition. Sometimes it's better to do this without auditioning. But I feel better when it comes to auditioning;” said Kani Kusruti. Kani's latest release is Nishiddho directed by Tara Ramanujan. Nishiddho won the award for the second-best film at the Kerala state film Awards of 2021.
