Kottayam Ramesh is an actor who has made an impact on the mini screen and the big screen in a short period of time. He gained attention through the popular serial Uppum Mulukum. The full-length role opposite Prithviraj in Ayyappanum Koshiyum brought Kottayam Ramesh more opportunities.
Ramesh played great roles in Bheeshmaparvam with Mammootty, Puzhu, and Aaraattu with Mohanlal. Kottayam Ramesh says that he had an experience with Mammootty before getting important roles in the film and he still remembers it. “When I was looking for film opportunities in Chennai for a few days, the daily expenses were covered by the occasional dubbing. At that time, I went to dub for the movie Adharvam. I went to dub for an actor named Rishi. After that dubbing, Mammooka has to go to Kashmir for the shoot of Nairsab. Back then dubbing was through a tape system. If the recording goes wrong, then the tape goes to waste. There was only one tape that day. So when a crisis came, Mammootty asked me. If you make a mistake, if you make a single mistake in the tape, the whole job will be ruined. I told him I’ll do my best. Fortunately, the dubbing was completed without any problems. Mammootty also praised me. Then Mammootty called Sibi Malayil and arranged an opportunity to do dubbing in another film;” Said Ramesh.
Ramesh added that Mammootty may not remember anything about it now, but it was an unforgettable experience for him. Ramesh's role as Mani Sir in Bheeshmaparvam was highly praised. Ramesh appeared as a villain in Mohanlal's Aaraattu.
