Imtiaz Ali shares throwback pictures of Sanjana Sanghi as he wishes her luck for Dil Bechara

Sanjana Sanghi is set to make her Bollywood debut as a lead actor soon in Dil Bechara. The film stars late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and will premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar. The film is based on a book titled 'The Fault in Our Stars' by John Green. Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has now wished Sanjana the very best of luck for Dil Bechara. Sanjana starred in a minor role in Ali's critically acclaimed film Rockstar.

On Instagram, Imtiaz shared two pictures of Sanjana Sanghi from Rockstar. The filmmaker also shared a poster of Dil Bechara. He wrote, "Little Mandy from Rockstar is a big girl now!!! looking fwd (sic)." He wrote referring to Sanjana's character Mandy, Nargis Fakri's sister in the film.

Recently Sanjana Sanghi thanked Mukesh Chhabra for spotting her at such a young age. Sanjana also thanked A R Rahman and Imtiaz Ali for guiding her in the Hindi film industry. She wrote, "At age 13, Mukesh found me performing on stage in my school in Delhi, asked me to 'audition' then and there itself, and went on to cast me as 'Mandy' in Rockstar. Many magical things happened during Rockstar, but one of the biggest was AR Rahman Sir's music."

"If you'd have told me 10 years later he'd bless my debut film as a lead actor Dil Bechara, would be based on my favourite novel The Fault in Our Stars - with his music on our album and background score with Mukesh directing me? That would not even be a dream I'd have ever dared to dream, " she added.

At age 13, Mukesh found me performing on stage in my school in Delhi, asked me to ‘audition’ then & there itself, and went on to cast me as “Mandy” in Rockstar. Many magical things happened during Rockstar, but one of the biggest was AR Rahman’s Sir’s music. If you’d have told me 10 years later he’d bless my debut film as a lead actor Dil Bechara, which will be based on my favourite novel The Fault in Our Stars - with HIS music on our album and background score.? That would not even be a dream I’d have ever dared to dream. Thank you @arrahman sir, for this eternal blessing, this is an absolute honor. I’ve pinched myself a million times since I first performed to your tunes almost two years ago, yet it just doesn’t sink in. Here’s my greatest honor in presenting to you all, the FULL music album of Dil Bechara!
