“India Has Potential To Become The Content Hub Of The World;” Prime Minister Narendra Modi Expressed His Delight At India's Selection As A 'Country Of Honour' At The 75th Cannes Film Festival

PM Narendra Modi expressed his delight at India's selection as a 'Country of Honour' Cannes Film Festival.

Modi established India as the world's largest film-producing nation. Modi said; “the multifariousness of our film sector is remarkable. A rich heritage and cultural diversity are our strengths."

Modi added that India has the potential to become the content hub of the world. "India has a lot of stories to be told. And the country truly possesses the immense potential to become the content hub of the world;" Modi added.

India commemorates the centenary of Satyajit Ray's birth. Modi expressed delight that a Ray film has been restored for playing in the Cannes Classic section.

India will be the official Country of Honour at the next 'Marche du Film'. This will take place in France in conjunction with the 75th Cannes Film Festival. The Country of Honour designation means that India will be the Focus Country for the Opening Night of the 'Marche du Film'. This will be held at the Majestic Beach and will focus on India, its cinema, culture, and heritage.
