With the tremendous success of KGF Chapter 1 and the meteoric rise of South star Yash, the year 2022 may have transformed the trajectory of the Kannada film industry. The popularity of KGF Chapter 2 quickly showed that people were becoming fascinated with the world of Sandalwood after being exposed to a new type of South content through Kannada film.
Many people credit Yash with establishing Kannada cinema as a global force. The actor has acknowledged that he had a dream about it in 2014 while attending a local gathering in Bangalore. As he continued to discuss his idea and vision, Yash remarked, “My industry was always great. It’s just that we’re not actively taking action in making realize how great it is & not getting equal opportunities. So for a few years, I was saying this everywhere because I could really see it and I wanted to put this thought process within the industry. I could clearly see it and envision it. I believe whatever we say in the universe, manifests. I think whenever you see your goal clearly, you’re working towards it you won't miss it.”
The actor-producer continued, “It’s the year of dreams, it’s a year of Kannada cinema. It’s a year of the common man’s cinema. A lot of people from no background whatsoever have been able to achieve big things this year. It’s not about Yash. It’s about the team. Especially KGF is not just about Yash, it’s about the team. My director, and each and every technician who has worked. So it’s everybody’s dream.”
Prashanth Neel is reportedly set to begin filming the third part of the action drama soon, according to rumours. KGF Chapter 2 was released on April 14, 2022. It also starred Srinidhi Shetty.
