Samantha Akkineni is continuing her super form even after getting married. She scored three consecutive successes last year. Even though her latest film Jaanu bombed at the box office, the failure didn't dent the stardom of Samantha. She is now planning to do a film with director Ashwin Saravanan. If the latest grapevine is anything to go by, senior hero Prashanth will play a key role in this female-oriented Tamil thriller.
We hear that this role will not be a romantic interest for Samantha in the film but is a key character. Ashwin felt that Prashanth will be the apt choice for the film. Apparently, the actor has also agreed to do the role. An official announcement will be out soon. Prashanth is best known for his films like Donga Donga and Jeans. He is currently acting in the Tamil remake of Andhadhun.
Ashwin Saravanan has made his debut with Nayanthara's Mayuri. It was a raging hit in both Tamil and Telugu. He later impressed yet again with his second directorial Game Over with Taapsee playing the lead role. Even this film got received well by the audiences. Impressed with his previous works, Samantha has agreed to do this lady-oriented thriller. The shoot of this film will go on floors very soon.
Meanwhile, Samantha will be next seen in the web series The Family Man. She has played a key role in the second season of this popular web series. It marks the debut of the actress in the digital arena. The Family Man Season 2 will get premiered in the latter half of this year. Samantha has also signed another Tamil film called Kathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal. Directed by Vignesh Shivn, this is a triangular love story and features Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in the other lead roles.
