The Coronavirus Pandemic has been causing havoc across the nation. Each day the number of positive cases is rising across the nation. India is now under a 21-day lockdown due to the COVID-19 crisis. All activities have come to a halt. Only the essentials like medical shops and grocery shops are allowed to be open. In this situation, actor turned politician Kamal Haasan has requested the government to grant him permission to convert his home into a temporary medical facility to tackle the COVID-19 crisis.

 
In Tamil Nadu, the number of positive increases every day. The government has been taking steps to tackle the virus. Many Kollywood celebrities have come forward to lend a helping hand.
 
Several actors such as Rajinikanth, Dhanush, Suriya, Karthi, and Sivakarthikeyan have come forward to donate money to the workers’ union FEFSI. This fund will help the daily wage workers of Kollywood meet day to day expenses.
 
Kamal Haasan has gone one step ahead. The actor is seeking government approval to convert his house into a temporary medical facility. He has announced that if given permission, his home will cater to the patients affected by the coronavirus. Haasan has also donated a sum of 10 lakhs for the welfare of the FEFSI workers. In this time of crisis, Haasan hopes to assist a team of doctors in tackling the crisis. Haasan has said that his team is ready to start working, he is just awaiting the government’s approval.
 
On the work front, Kamal Haasan is awaiting the release of his film Indian 2. Indian 2 is the sequel to Haasan's 1996 hit film Indian. He will also appear in the sequel to Gautham Menon’s 2006 film Vettaiyadu Vilayadu.
