Karan Johar debunks the rumors of Brahmastra stars agreeing to a pay-cut due to COVID-19 postponement

COVID-19 has pushed back a lot many film releases and shootings. Karan Johar's Brahmastra is one such film. Set to release this December, now it seems rather uncertain. It stars all the big names such as Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. The postponement of the film has given rise to certain rumours. The rumour is that to keep the film commercially viable, its cast has agreed to pay cuts. Sources said that Ranbir, Alia and Ayan Mukerji agreed and were ready for the pay cut. Though, Karan Johar took to Twitter to discard these rumours.

He wrote, My hugest request to my media friends not to reach any assumptions on our fraternityfilms...these are challenging times for the business and false news only makes the situation worse! Please wait for official news on any account!! This is a humble request....” he requested media not to believe in false news especially now.

The film is halfway done in terms of shooting. Given the extended lockdown, its release seems even more uncertain as the fans eagerly wait it out. The film includes a lot of special effects such as VFX. This means that it will need a lot of time to edit. By the looks of it, the film will only release next year. The film will also see Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna. A special cameo by Shah Rukh Khan is also in the cards.
