Koozhangal wins Tiger Award at Rotterdam Film Festival

Director PS Vinothraj made a glorious debut with Koozhangal (Pebbles in English). The film is backed by director Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara and premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival 2021 on February 4. After receiving overwhelming reviews from the jury, Koozhangal won the coveted Tiger Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival. This is the first Tamil film to have won the prestigious award and the second Indian film to get the honour after Sanal Kumar Sasidharans Sexy Durga.

 
Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara released a video where the former was all praises for the entire team of Koozhangal. In the video, he said, "Koozhangal is the first Tamil film to win the Tiger competition award. Vinoth's hard work has got him such a huge honour in his very first film. This is the first release from Rowdy Pictures, so we are immensely happy. We are feeling very, very blessed. Thank you for all your love and support. Thank you, Vinoth and team." Koozhangal will be screened in several international film festivals. The film explores the relationship between a father and son, who try to get back their mother.
