The upcoming romance comedy Kushi stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverekonda, both from the South. This year's December release date was being finalized for the lighthearted love story, which has been in production for some time. The decision to delay the film's release has, however, been made official.
A few days ago, a number of media stories suggested that Kushi's creators may be considering delaying the film's premiere. Actor Vijay Deverakonda finally broke his silence and affirmed the rumors, putting an end to the rumors. He disclosed that a "bunch of reasons" led to the postponement of Kushi until next year.
The Arjun Reddy actor addressed the rumors in a conversation with News18 and stated, “We have done close to 60 percent of the shoot. We were originally hoping to get it out by December but now it’s been pushed to next year due to a bunch of reasons. We are eyeing a February 2023 release as of now.”
Kushi, directed by Shiva Nirvana, was set to hit theatres on December 23. Along with them, Jayaram, Sachin Khedakar, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar, and Saranya will appear in the ensemble cast of the movie.
The Liger actor also discussed his experience working with Samantha for the second time throughout their interview, following their previous collaboration on the film Mahanati. “It was a beautiful experience to be in this film. I think I was in my degree college when I saw Samantha on the big screen for the first time”, he said.
He added, “I was straight away in love with her and now to be able to do a movie and act alongside her and create some magic is a satisfying feeling and she is a great actress. So, I’m eagerly waiting to bring Kushi to the world.”
