Priyanka Chopra is currently in India with her daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas and her mother Madhu Chopra. The actress is busy promoting her upcoming series, Citadel, which had its Mumbai premiere on Tuesday. During a recent interview, Madhu Chopra talked about Priyanka's career. She talked about the challenges they faced when they first entered the film industry.
Madhu revealed that when Priyanka started her acting career after winning Miss World 2000. They were both new to the film and beauty industries. She said that it was like "one blind man leading another blind man." Madhu, who had studied law and had knowledge about finance, helped Priyanka with her legal and financial matters. She also accompanied Priyanka to narrations and meetings, adding that she had to be with her daughter everywhere.
Madhu also spoke about Priyanka losing out on films because she refused to do certain scenes that she was not comfortable with. She said, "She lost many films because she refused to do some scenes which she thought are not worth it." Madhu further revealed that she told Priyanka that she had the option to choose another career and that her Bollywood career was not 'do or die'. She advised Priyanka that she could always go back to studying or take up some other career, as she had a lot of options.
Priyanka arrived in India on March 31 with her husband Nick Jonas, who joined her for the first time with their daughter Malti. They also attended the grand opening weekend of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai. Priyanka danced on stage with Ranveer Singh at the event.
