John Honai is a Malayalam audiences’ one of the favorite villains of all time. The 55-year-old actor Riza Bava, who played John Honai has passed away. The actor died after getting admitted due to kidney disease. Doctors admitted Riza Bava to a ventilator due to poor health.
He died at a private hospital in Kochi. Producer and Production Controller N M Badusha informed about Riza Bava’s death through Facebook.
Many celebrities have expressed their shock at the sudden death of the star. Director Siddique said that Riza Bava’s demise is a loss for him. “Riza Bava’s demise is a loss not only to Malayalam cinema but also to me personally. I share the grief of his family, friends, and fans,” said Siddique.
Riza Bava entered the acting industry through drama. Riza Bava made his acting debut in 1984 with the film ‘Vishupakshi’. Unfortunately, the film did not see daylight.
Riza Bava later starred as a hero for Parvathy in the 1990 film ‘Doctor Pashupati’. Riza Bava is best known for his role as John Honai in Siddique-Lal's film ‘In Harihar Nagar’.
After John Honai, Riza Bava played many important villain roles in Malayalam cinema. Apart from film, Riza Bava has done notable roles in serials as well. Riza Bava has acted in over 150 movies and 20 serials in Malayalam so far.
Apart from acting, he also did dubbing in movies. Riza Bava’s dubbing for Karmayogi (2011) won the State Award for Best Dubbing Artist.
