Mammootty unveiled the official teaser for Jude Anthany's '2018,' a survival thriller based on the 2018 Kerala floods. The skilled director is best known for his debut Om Shanthi Oshana. The megastar's comments on the filmmaker haircut has caused quite a stir on social media. The seasoned actor has received criticism from netizens for what they believe to be body-shaming of the director.
For the uninitiated, Mammootty said in Malayalam that Jude, despite having no hair on his head, is a phenomenally creative director with an incredible brain. This statement upset online users. They thought it was body-shaming bald people. Mammootty later apologized for making the statement. He also thanked his fans for spotting the error.
"Dear all, I am sorry that some of you were offended by the enthusiastic words I used to praise director Jude Antony at the trailer launch event of the '2018' movie that happened yesterday. Will take further care not to repeat such practices. Thanks for all the reminders," he posted. The netizens now praise Mammootty for delivering a quick genuine apology.
The director justified Mammootty's remarks. He ensured that he is well aware of Mammootty's love for him. He pleaded with internet users not to misinterpret his praise in the words he used. Jude also made a funny statement about the same. He said that blame should be given to the water supply provided by Bangalore Corporation and several shampoo brands for his hair loss. Later, the 2018 director also commented on Mammootty's apologies post. He expressed his concern over how his hairdo got his favourite actor into trouble.
