The plan for the sequel, which will be part 2 of the movie, was discussed during a press conference held on September 17 in Chennai by filmmaker Mani Ratnam. The film's second instalment will apparently be released within the next nine months, according to a statement made by the filmmaker to the media.
The movie's producers reportedly planned for a second instalment because they couldn't fit the entire epic into one picture. The expectation for the second half of the film is also piquing the attention of the public as the movie creators are currently in full gear with the promotion. The Chola dynasty is the subject of the fictional historical drama "Ponniyin Selvan 1." Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai play the key roles in the film. The supporting cast of the movie includes Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Nasser, Kishore, Rahman, Jayaram, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala. The soundtrack for the movie is composed by AR Rahman.
