Malayalam superstar Mohanlal was last seen in director Jeethu Joseph's Drishyam 2. The film released directly on Amazon Prime Video and received overtly positive reviews from the audience and critics alike. Recently, Mohanlal took to Instagram to announce that he has received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. He recently went to Amrita Hospitals in Kerala and got the vaccine. Mohanlal has been advocating everyone to wear face masks and follow social distancing rules.

Sharing photos of Mohanlal, he wrote, "Took the First Shot of Covid Vaccine from Amrita Hospital. I take this opportunity to thank the Government of India, the companies which are producing the vaccine & the medical fraternity, including all hospitals, for their relentless assistance and cooperation shown towards the COVID Vaccination Drive (sic)." Addressing the media, Mohanlal said, "We should get the vaccine for the sake of ourselves and society. Everyone should take the vaccine as directed by the government." He is waiting for the release of Marakkar: Arabikadlinte Simham, which will release in theatres on May 13. The actor also has Ram, Aaraattu and Barroz, which are at different stages of production.
