Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has been waiting for the release of his period film Marakkar: Arabikalinte Simham. The film was supposed to release in theatres last year but it had to be postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Mohanlal then moved on to his upcoming films during the pandemic. In fact, he reunited with filmmaker Jeethu Joseph for the sequel to their blockbuster film Drishyam. During the COvid-19 pandemic, Drishyam 2 was one of the first few films to go on floors and was wrapped up in a couple of months.
After wrapping up the shoot of Drishyam 2 in a jiffy, the makers decided to release the film directly on Amazon Prime Video. They were confident enough to skip a theatrical release. Now, Jeethu Joseph took to Facebook to reveal that the post-production work of Drishyam 2 has been completed. The film is now ready for release on the OTT platform. Meanwhile, there are rumors doing the rounds that the film will be dropped on the OTT platform on February 15. However, there has been no update on the same from the Drishyam 2 team or Amazon Prime Video.
