Monster, starring Mohanlal released on October 21. Monster is an action movie in Malayalam directed by Vyshakh. At the box office, it competed with Padavettu by Nivin Pauly. It was anticipated that both films would perform well during their opening weekend. But after seven days of theatrical run, both the films are struggling to maintain admissions. On the seventh day of its run, Monster hardly collected 20 lakh from box office.
Surprisingly, Mammootty's Rorschach, which was releasef 21 days before is still steady in box office. The movie has collected over 20 crores from Kerala alone in 21 days. While, Monster collected 5.08 crores from 7 days. It almost ended the theatrical run. Padavettu has collected only 2.63 crores from 7 days.
Both Monster and Padavettu star the most adored stars in the business. But they have surprisingly failed to pull audiences to the movie theatres.
Although there were a lot of expectations placed on Monster, the reviews and audience reactions are not great. The movie's commerce has suffered as a result. The future box office prospects do not appear to be promising. Monster appears to be Mohanlal's next box office failure. Mohanlal's films 12th Man and Bro Daddy were released directly on OTT in 2022. The movie Aaraattu was a failure when it was released in theatres. Monster is made in the same collaboration which made the largest hit of Mollywood. Pulimurugan was also written by Udayakrishna and directed by Vyshakh.
