Music Director A R Rahman’s North American Tour postponed

The Coronavirus Outbreak has pushed governments across the globe to take precautionary measures. Crowd control measures are in place; people are to stay indoors and practice social distancing. In the same line of thought, many music events and concerts around the globe are shutting down to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Music Director A R Rahman has announced that he has postponed his North American tour; the tour was to take place in April and May this year. The tour will now take place in April and May next year.

 
Rahman took to Twitter to announce the shift in schedule. The musician tweeted: "There is nothing more important to me than sharing my music with my loyal fans throughout the world. Unfortunately, this is a moment when we should be in our homes with our families. So with the health and welfare of you, my fans, my family & my band, #NorthAmericaTour2020 "
 
He also added, “At that time we can come together to once again share our music and community. I will be sure to update you over time, and I am praying for everyone's health and safety. #ARRLive #NorthAmericaTour2020," he concluded.”
 
The push back of the tour joins the long list of festivals and concerts such as Coachella that have faced cancellation or postponed.
 
In other news, the music composer is working on a number of films such as Vikram’s Cobra, Sivakarthikeyan’s Ayalaan and Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan.
