As there are no signs of the reopening of theaters anytime soon, many films are now opting for a direct digital release. Initially, a few big-ticket Telugu films opposed this idea. The makers of these films wanted to go for a theatrical release. But due to the current situation, they are now opting for an OTT release. Already, it got confirmed that
Nani's
V will land on Amazon Prime Video soon. Now, it is being heard that
Anushka Shetty's
Nishabdham will also follow the same route. Apparently, Amazon Prime Video bagged the rights of this film for Rs. 25 crores.
Nishabdham was earlier slated for the release on April 2. But due to the lockdown, it couldn't hit the theaters. After that, the film's director Hemant Madhukar stated that they will go for the theatrical release for sure. He added that the censor board liked the film and they asked him to release the movie in theaters. With these statements, everyone thought that the film will get screened in cinema halls for sure. But things have become worse now and they had to opt for the digital route. Recently, one of the film's producers Kona Venkat conducted a poll online. In that poll, many people asked the makers to go for the OTT release. The release date will get announced soon.
Nishabdham features Madhavan, Anjali, Shalini Panday, and Subbaraju in the other important roles. Gopi Sunder composed the music of this film.
