4:40 AM:- The movie starts with a background explanation in painting/statue form. Kamal Haasan's voiceover. 4:50 AM:- An intense fight scene introduces Vikram and Karthi and leads the plot forward with the establishment. All of the elements are slowly coming into place with the classic Mani Ratnam style. 5:15 AM:- The plot is moving slowly. Karthi is stealing the show, but Mani Ratnam is taking things very plainly with no high moments. there is news of an inner war in the kingdom, and plots are being made. 5:45 AM:- Karthi is now assigned the task to go to Lanka after meeting with NANDINI and Kundavi. Back and forth between different situations.

First half report:

Ponniyin Selvan has a very very slow first half. Some writing promises and a fantastic performance from Karthi are holding up the dull direction and flat narration. Not many high moments, rough editing, and a mixed writing effort along with poor cinematography leave a lot in the second half. 6:10 AM:- The second half starts with the entry of Jayam Ravi into Lanka and begins with a war scene. 6:25 AM:- The plot is becoming tied a little bit, with Aishwarya rai and Trisha involved in state matters. 7:00 AM:- Jayam Ravi and Karthi meet, while Trisha tries to bring Vikram back to the kingdom. The plot is moving slowly.
