It looks like the stereotypical mindset of humans to wish for a baby boy, is common across the world. Apparently, Princess Diana's father Earl Spencer was also disappointed at the time of her birth. Apparently, he was longing for a boy child when his wife was pregnant. Thus, he got a bit disappointed when Diana was born.
 
However, Earl Spencer shared a very close bonding with Diana. This information got revealed in the OK! Magazine special edition of 1997. Diana also had a very bad childhood. Even though she came from a privileged background, she never had a great childhood. Her parents got divorced when was only seven. She had a very lonely childhood. Thus, she vowed to herself that her children should never suffer from such difficulties.
 
Diana was close with her dad Spencer until his death which happened in 1992. After her parents' divorce, Diana stayed with her mother for a while. Eventually, her father won her custody in the court's statement. But things didn't change after that. Earl Spencer married Raine in 1976. Raine has never treated Diana and her sisters in a good way. Thus, they used to call Raine as 'Acid Raine.'
 
When Earl Spencer went into a coma in 1978, Raine didn't allow Diana and her siblings to see him. She felt that only she can look after him during that period. Diana married Prince Charles in the year 1981. Both of them have two children, William and Harry. She died in the year 1997.
