Puri Jagannadh May Look Into Compensating Distributors After ‘Liger’ Disaster
Liger's distributor, Warangal Srinu, has stated that the picture cost him around 65% of his investment. Puri Jagannadh, the director-producer of Liger, is planning a trip to Hyderabad to speak with distributors. Not only that, but there are reports that he intends to talk to the distributors about the loss and compensate them for it.
'Liger,' starring Vijay Deverakonda, Ananya Pandey, and Ramya Krishnan, was released in theatres on August 25 and bombed at the box office. The clip was supposed to show some fireworks at the ticket counter. The film, which was made on a budget of Rs 125 crore, failed to break the Rs 40 crore mark in eight days. Liger's distributor, Warangal Srinu, has stated that the picture cost him around 65% of his investment.
There were also claims that Warangal Srinu had lost Rs 100 crore in the previous year. Srinu, on the other hand, rejected these allegations. Meanwhile, Puri Jagannadh, the director-producer of Liger, is planning a trip to Hyderabad to speak with distributors. Also, there are reports that he intends to talk to the distributors about the loss and compensate them for it.
In terms of Liger's performance, the film has been distributed in five languages on around 2500 screens across the country. Liger did barely Rs 60 lakhs in business on Thursday, according to early estimates. This film's overall earnings have risen to Rs 39.49 crore.
