Rahul Ravindran, who has worked in films such as Vanakkam Chennai, U Turn, and others, is all set to play one of the lead roles in the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen. He will be reprising the role of Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu in the Tamil version. Director Kannan is helming the film in two languages and since Rahul is a known face in Telugu, he decided to finalise Rahul Ravindran for the remake. Rahul Ravindran recently made his directorial debut with Chi La Sow, which fetched him National Award for Best Screenplay. He then directed Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet's Manmadhudu 2.
The shooting of the Tamil remake of The Great Indian Kicthen is currently going on at a swift pace in and around Karaikudi. Poopular writer Pattukottai Prabhaskar has been signed on to write the dialogues for the film while PG Muthiah will be cranking the camera. The Tamil and Telugu remakes of The Great Indian Kitchen are produced by director Kannan's own production house Masala Pix. As reported earlier, Aiswarya Rajesh will be playing the lead role in the film, which is expected to release later this year.
