Superstar Rajinikanth is waiting for the release of his upcoming film, Annaatthe, directed by Siruthai Siva. The film, produced by Sun Pictures, is all set to release in theatres on November 4, on the occasion of Diwali. Ahead of the film's release, Rajinikanth organized a special screening of Annaatthe for his family members. Rajinikanth watched the film with his wife Latha Rajinikanth, daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya, Vishagan, grandson Ved Krishna and his in-laws Vanangamudi and Uma Vanangamudi. Thalaivar shared a Hootie about the screening and added that his grandson hugged him tightly for four minutes.
Rajinikanth in his voice note said, "I watched Annaatthe with Latha, Aishwarya, Soundarya, Vishagan, Ved, along with my in-laws Vanangamudi and Usha Vanangamudi. Ved wanted to sit next to me and catch the show. This is the first film of mine he is watching. After the screening, he gave me a tight hug for four minutes and said 'I am happy thathu'. He calls me thathu when he is happy. This is the first time we all watched a show together. It made me very happy. I thanked Ved and came out of the theatre. To my surprise, I saw Kalanithi Maaran waiting outside and he received me with a smile. Despite his busy schedule, he made it a point to be there, which was indeed overwhelming."
