Viewers of Ramesh Arvind’s Shivaji Surathkal were anticipating its release on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime has been the hotspot for Kannada releases like Love Mocktail and Dia. To much surprise of the viewers, the Shivaji Surathkal team has decided not to air Shivaji Surathkal on such OTT platforms.
 
Shivaji Surathkal has reserved theatrical success since its release on February 21st, 2020. With the Coronavirus outbreak, the theatrical screening of Shivaji Surathkal has stopped. The director and producers expect a re-release in the following months. Various critics have stated that Shivaji Surathkal can become a successful franchise. Thus, the Shivaji Surathkal team believes that it too early to release the film on OTT platforms. They expect box office success after the re-release and the potential sequels.
 
Shivaji Surathkal has called the “Desi Sherlock Homes”. The film has received both popular and critical acclaim. Shivaji Surathkal follows the tale of a police inspector. Like Sherlock Holmes, he too has an elephantine memory and the ability to re-imagine crimes. The Shivaji Surathkal team believes that the viewers will enjoy the film a lot more on the big screen.
 
The director Srivatsa is homebound due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. This has not stopped him from working. He has already started working on the Shivaji Surathkal sequel.
 
The viewers will now have to wait a little longer to see Shivaji Surathkal in action!
