On Thursday, the whole country woke up to the shocking news of the demise of Rishi Kapoor. As soon as the news came out, the complete Bollywood industry mourned the loss of the actor. Katrina Kaif, who worked with Rishi in Namastey London and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, shared a picture of him on her social media handle. In order to pay her last tribute to the actor, Katrina wrote, "Words fall short.. You will be remembered forever."
 
Rishi Kapoor succumbed to cancer which he was battling for the past couple of years. The actor came back from New York last year after undergoing its treatment. However, this year Rishi's health was deteriorating rapidly. The actor's cremation took place in the afternoon. Only the close family members and friends we're present at the location. The people present were Neetu Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Randhir Kapoor, Armaan Jain, Ayan Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and others.
 
In the official statement released by the family, it said that the actor passed away at 8 AM in the morning. "Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8:45am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukemia. The doctors and medical staff at the hospital said he kept them entertained to the last. He remained jovial and determined to live to the fullest right through two years of treatment across two continents. Family, friends, food and films remained his focus and everyone who met him during this time was amazed at how he did not let his illness get the better of him."
