Ranbir Kapoor all set for the release of his new movie ‘Shamshera’ for which he has been doing the promotion rounds, has revealed a core principle his father had passed on to him.
Ranbir Kapoor revealed that his late father, Rishi Kapoor had advised him not to do a film that needs him to wear a dhoti. Rishi Kapoor believed that there were some kinds of films that never worked. He advised Ranbir to stick to commercial films and to continuously experiment so that he would never fall into the trap of being typecast.
Talking about Shamshera, Ranbir had earlier said, “If you start from Ramayan and Mahabharat and come all the way down to Thor - the hero's intention will always remain the same. A hero is someone who you can look up to, somebody you can relate to, or who you aspire to be.”
Ranbir further added that Shamshera was his attempt at trying something new as he had been working in the industry for 15 years and he wanted to present something new with each role.
Shamshera, directed by Karan Malhotra is set in the 1800s and chronicles the story of a dacoit tribe opposing the British role. It is set to release in July 22, 2022.
