RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, continues to be adored as its special showing in the US received a fantastic reception.
The audience cheered the entire time the movie was being screened at the Beyond Fest in Los Angeles, where it was given a standing ovation. In the hopes of acquiring a ticket, they even waited outside LA's Chinese Theatre for two hours prior to the movie. The audience dancing to Naatu Naatu as it played on-screen was captured in photos and videos that have even gone viral on social media.
Rajamouli also posted a touching video from the night of the screening's crowd applause as he took the stage on social media. "Your support and cheers for me, my movie, and my heroes were overwhelming. He shared the video and commented, "THANK YOU USA. The Gujarati film Chhello Show was selected by the Film Federation of India (FFI) as their official Oscar entry, although it appears that SS Rajamouli may as well submit the movie on his own to the Academy.
RRR debuted earlier this year and dominated the global box office. The movie, which starred Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and others in significant parts, was well received at the Toronto International Film Festival. It's unclear if RRR will still be in the race for an Oscar despite the FFI's decision because SS Rajamouli has a number of other commitments in Los Angeles.
