‘RRR’ Team Starts Campaigning For Oscar Nominations Under The Independent Category

Last month, the Indian Film Federation (FFI) set aside SS. Rajamouli's 'RRR' in favor of nominating the Gujarati film 'Chhellow Show' (Last Film Show) as India's official entry to the Oscars. Many Tollywood film fans and filmmakers were disappointed that 'RRR' was not considered for India's Oscar submissions this year.

Now, the film's producers are reportedly campaigning in the United States for the selection committee to watch and allow the film to compete independently from the United States in the following categories. Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Original Song are among the categories. The campaign's results will be announced soon. 'RRR' is a 2022 Indian Telugu epic action drama film written by V.Vijayendra Prasad and produced by DVV Entertainments' DVV Danayya. Jr NTR and Ram Charan play the key roles, with Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt supporting. Other cast members include Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. The plot revolves around two real-life Indian freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (JrNTR), and their fight against the British Raj in 1920. The film was shot by KK Senthil Kumar, while Sabu Cyril was in charge of production design, V Srinivas Mohan was in charge of VFX, and A.Sreekar Prasad was in charge of editing.
