Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to Twitter on Wednesday to share an update on the film Kushi. She co-stars with Vijay Deverakonda in the upcoming Telugu romantic drama Kushi. In response to a fan question, Samantha stated that the film's shoot will resume soon. She also apologized to Vijay Deverakonda's fans. Samantha and Vijay's second collaboration follows Mahanati.
Kushi's title and poster were revealed in May. Samantha Ruth Prabhu described it as a film that will be a great family experience. Samantha revealed that she was suffering from a rare auto-immune disease called myositis. The revelation came after she shot the first part of the film in Kashmir. Samantha had to put all of her work commitments on hold due to the diagnosis. She received treatment for her medical condition in the interim. As a result, the Kushi shoot had to be pushed forward for several months. The producers waited for new dates from Samantha to resume shooting.
Following a fan's question about when she will resume shooting for Kushi, Samantha wrote,
Samantha was most recently seen in the Telugu action film Yashoda. Samantha played a surrogate mother who will go to any length to protect her child in the film. The film was a box office success. It grossed approximately Rs 33 crore worldwide in its first ten days.
Samantha became emotional during Yashoda's promotion and opened up about her health condition. She had said during a media interaction last year, “As I said in my post (Instagram), some days are good, some are bad. Some days, I’ve felt that even taking one more step would be difficult. But when I look back, I wonder if I’ve gone through so much and have come this far. I’m here to fight.”
